President: Rachel Ward-Sale
Rachel studied Art, Design and Bookbinding at The University of Brighton from 1977-1982 under the guidance of Faith Shannon and David Sellars. In 1980 and 2004 she won the Designer Bookbinders silver medal and was awarded second prize in the 2017 International Competition. Rachel was elected a Licentiate In 1980 and a Fellow in 2005.
Since leaving college, she has worked as a self-employed bookbinder undertaking a wide variety of projects and commissions from her studio in East Sussex. She teaches bookbinding at her studio and other venues including West Dean College, Chichester.
Although a large proportion of her current work involves the repair and rebinding of old books, her main interest remains centred around the creation of designed fine bindings. Her work is represented in public and private collections around the world.

Wendy studied Fashion and Textiles at Bristol Polytechnic and worked in London
for several years as a clothes designer for a leading High Street store. On
moving to Bath she established a small business designing and making a range
of nursery and home products which she sells through shops and online.
