Officers

President: Julian Thomas
Julian joined the bookbinding section of the National Library of Wales in 1969 and completed a four-year apprenticeship in bookbinding. He has spent his entire working career in the library, subsequently becoming Head of Binding and Conservation in 1981.

An accredited member of the Institute of Paper Conservation, and Instructor for the Society of Archivists Conservation Certificate Training Scheme, he is also an active member of the Society of Bookbinders. Elected a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders in 1996 and became President in 2007.

Secretary: Wendy Hood
Wendy studied Fashion and Textiles at Bristol Polytechnic and worked in London for several years as a clothes designer for a leading High Street store. On moving to Bath she established a small business designing and making a range of nursery and home products which she sells through shops and online.
