Mel Gooding
Mel is an art critic, writer and curator. His books on artists include; Bruce McLean (1990), Patrick Heron (1994), Gillian Ayres (2001), Ceri Richards (2002), John Hoyland (2006), Herman de Vries: Chance and Change (2006), Merlyn Evans (2010), and Frank Bowling (2011). Other monographs on art and architecture include; William Alsop Architect (1992), Joze Plecnik: The National and University Library, Ljubljana (1997), Public: Art: Space (1998), Abstract Art (2001); Song of the Earth: European Artists in the Landscape (2002). He has also made poems and texts for many artists’ books, including nine publications with Knife Edge Press in collaboration with Bruce McLean. He is the joint editor of Surrealist Games (1991), Alphabets and Other Signs (1991), The Playful Eye (1995), ABZ (2003), and editor of Psychobox (2004): all with Redstone Press.
