Paul
Delrue began binding in 1959; he was an apprentice
at UCL from 1961–64 and worked there as a binder until 1971. During
that time he helped restore flood-damaged books from Florence. He set
up a bindery in 1971 in Bedfordshire, later moving to Chester after a
two-year period in Wales. Awards and honours: Silver medal and three
other awards in 1991 in the DB Competition; in 1992 two Bronze medals
in the Prix Paul Bonet. Collections: Royal collections, British Library,
