Rosemary Temperley
Rosemary has had a life-long interest in paper engineering. She suffers from dyslexia and, as a child, was a reluctant and late reader. Her grandmother took it upon herself to remedy this with frequent presents of pop-up and movable children’s books. The success was such that Rosemary has been collecting these books ever since. Over the years her interest and her knowledge has grown, stimulated certainly by her marriage 42 years ago to her antiquarian book dealing husband, one of his main specializations being in children’s books. This shared interest has been an important influence and a huge benefit to her. She retired from the teaching profession 8 years ago and this has enabled her to develop a deeper and more academic approach to the subject and to widen her collection to include non-children’s books and ephemera.
