book sewn on tapes, edges painted and sprinkled with gold leaf, laminated boards
laced on, front board heavily sculptured to create deep ‘trench’ running from spine to foredge,
coloured endbands sewn, book covered in stained, heavily grained goatskin at tail and
stained and embossed fair calf at head, calf sprinkled with gold leaf, black goatskin inlay
around cover and on sides of trench, red goatskin onlay, lettered in gold leaf, sunken inlaid
‘medal’ on foredge of front board.
