Select a year:   2017   2018

Following the first successful year of Designer Bookbinders at Collect, we are pleased to announce that we will be going back for the second time in 2018. Collect 2018 will run from 22nd to 25th February at The Saatchi Gallery in London.

DB will have a similar sized stand to last year's and we look forward to being part of this prestigious show for the second time. In addition to the main stand, DB will also have one of the 'Spotlight' showcase booths. On show at this stand will be Annette Friedrich's, Woolf I - IX project, a new body of work encompassing all of Virginia Woolf’s nine novels bound in chronological order.

Woolf I - IX is the result of Annette's project titled On a stroll with Mrs. Woolf. Over the course of seven years, she has developed a fractionalized visual language that is in parallel with Woolf's explicit experimental style of writing. It is almost as if Friedrich is in conversation with Woolf. Woolf I - IX will be presented as a wall installation. Next to this, a table display will show the accompanying project On a stroll with Mrs. Woolf. Text excerpts, design sketches, and diary notes will throw a light on both makers' quest to shape a new kind of language within a contemporary setting. Moments of vision are highlighted, as well as those of doubt.
