- Self-employed binder working mainly on contemporary
design bindings and collaborative book projects with designer- makers
form other disciplines.
- Visual response to a text focuses on
mood and rhythm. Very interested in pattern and the responses elicited
by its change in scale and use of materials. The structure of the book
plays a major role in all her work and the physical nature of the binding
is an important element in developing the overall design.
- Taught for many years at Urchfont
Manor in Wiltshire and currently teaches a course at Salisbury. She recently
founded BINDING re:DEFINED, a programme of workshops that specialise in
book structures, and holds masterclasses both in the UK and abroad.
- Elected a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders in
2001. Her work is held in private and public collections.
